This safe and simple solution effectively dissolves rock-like scale deposits that contaminate your water-cooled marine equipment. LIME Marine is used at ambient temperature and then circulated to bring the solution in contact with the accumulated minerals. The reaction results in a slight foaming or bubbling action, indicating the deposits are actually dissolving into solution, and then simply water flush away! These scale deposits, along with zebra mussels and tiger shells, damage your equipment and reduce your water system performance. Historically, these problems have been addressed via harsh acids, mechanical methods, ion exchange, polyphosphates, permanent magnets and electronic conditioning. Directions for Use

A. Circulation Cleaning Method

Recommended for compatible heat exchangers, seawater pipelines, condensers and closed water circuits.

1. Shut down and isolate the equipment to be cleaned.

2. Drain the system and remove loose debris where practical.

3. Inspect the system materials and confirm chemical compatibility.

4. Prepare the descaling solution at the concentration specified in the product TDS.

5. Circulate the solution through the scaled system using a suitable chemical-resistant pump.

6. Monitor scale dissolution, solution condition and relevant process parameters.

7. Continue circulation until the required cleaning endpoint is achieved.

8. Drain and collect the spent cleaning solution.

9. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until the required post-cleaning conditions are achieved.

10. Neutralize or passivate the system where required by the equipment maintenance procedure.

Important: If the formulation is acid-based, monitor gas evolution and avoid operating the cleaning circuit as a sealed, unvented system.

B. Immersion Cleaning Method

Suitable for compatible dismantled components.

1. Place the components in a chemically resistant cleaning tank.

2. Prepare the descaling solution according to the approved TDS.

3. Immerse the components in the solution.

4. Allow sufficient contact time for scale dissolution.

5. Inspect periodically and remove loosened deposits where necessary.

6. Remove the components and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

7. Dry and protect the cleaned components as required.

C. Manual Cleaning Method

For accessible compatible surfaces, apply the product using an approved chemical-resistant applicator.

Allow controlled contact with the scale deposit, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid allowing concentrated chemical to remain on sensitive surfaces.

LIME Marine should be used as directed and at any temperature within the operating limits between 0°F / -18°C and 180°F / 82°C. If the solution does freeze, slush or thicken at the lower operating temperatures, and then thaws, there will be no performance reducing results. Please consult the manufacturer when temperatures above 180°F are encountered.
RXLYME Marine should be applied at ambient temperatures with no heating required. The solution is exothermic, but does not develop a substantial increase in temperature while dissolving water scale, rust, mussels, barnacles, zebra mussels, tiger shells and other water formed deposits.
